<lj:music>The Arcade Fire, neighborhood #1</lj:music>

Well the truth is..i got sucked into the pathetic myspace world and kind of left my livejournal. Either way..online blogs arent really that interesting. But for an update:

Summer was amazing. After my freshman year ended(three days after to be specific) i left for Frost Valley Outtrip. There..the unthinkable happened. I met the most amazing people ever. Two of which id already known from other camp years. lily and jess....two crazy kids. Well we all got to know eachother, while jess got sick and decided to throw up multiple times on during our ten hour drive up to maine. Maine by the way is extremly beautiful. Our campsites were pretty much amazing, not counting the unbelievable amount of mosquitos. Which werent that terrible if you were on the shore cause the breeze made if hard for them to survive.

**Dont eat bananas when camping...they attract bugs..**

(didnt know that at the time)

Well we biked for one weak, around 80 miles into acadia national park. A lovely little town on desert island called Bar Harbor made our trip a little less.....woodsy. We shopped all day. Ate chinese food. Saw a movie(cinderella man) IN LAZY BOY CHARS. The most amazing movie theater ever....5 dollars for some comfortable seating..free water...food in plastic bowls..and bingo. Yea the people there thought we were strange for taking a large amount of pictures. The next week we kayaked with our tour guides...who were just another amazign addition tot he trip. The sky was clear and the weather was amazing. Our island was Pomp island, and we spent at least six hours everyday sitting on the large rocks making hemp necklaces and such for eachtoher while the sun set infront of us. We kayaked around the area, couple miles i guess a day..hiked here..explored there..etc.etc. We met up with the other maine trip group(the yonger kids..almost all were at least) and they didnt have such a great time.

**fire 47 man...leave fire pits if drunks approach..and if you let kids use your fire to roast grapes, they give you free food..**

Saying goodbye on the last day was one of the hardest things to do. Of course since then ive seen a lot of the kids and well..were all still great friends.

Second session was also amazing(residents camp). Although i was in the younger village cause of my friends, it was still amazing. Next year im hopefully becoming a C.I.T...if not im probably only doing the outtrp in costa rica. Yea thats right, costa fucking rica to save the sea turtles(hahaha). And then explore europe, thats how we do. Second session in tacoma was..bliss. From the 80's dance to team red pranks at 6:00 am with the discovery song..and the clivus(luckly chen actually DIDNT fall in, although she was a missing camper..for a night).

Leaving for vacation this week, and im a soph now. Thats pretty excited.

One love.

This week has been very akward. And by akward i mean extremly strange and suprising. Freshman year is comming to an end. But before the glory of finishing a year with good grades and nothing awful, we must make it through the end of the year exams, projects, regular tests and for some..including me..SAT's. On June fourth i(as well as other freshman who chose to take so..goodluck guys!) Will be taking the Biology SATs. Why? Well im not sure, it looks good for when applying for colleges, even tho i am going to major in art, mostlikely. Speaking of art, my art teacher is off to china to visit friends, have showings at universities and other important places and hangout there. I wont have another lesson till around the end of july when im home from camp(or when he returns). My dad talked about going to china one summer, i think that would be amazing. After the year of chinese art lessons, going there and experiancing it first hand would be, just, wow..And going to a school for art. F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C.
This weekend is going to be awesome. Starting off with tomorrow...going on a field trip to the city to see Indian Music.YEEEEESSSSSSSSSS. Chillin with Sarah and cool kids all day. After School straight to frisbeee passttaaa dinnerrrrr and LOTS of fun! Then home to study, study, study. SO much stress and work this week, i hate school. Probably going to leave early, parents dont wanna get into Pittsburg really late. Maybe missing italian and English(last two periods of the day). YEA SIX HOUR DRIVING AND MORE! For those of you who dont know what easterns are, its the east side Tournament for frisbee. Sparkle Motion(the columbia maplewood southorange girls team) will be amazing. Today some guy from news record stopped by cause he saw people playing frisbee, took some random pictures..pretty weird.. Well..EASTERNS WILL RULE. Comming home late sunday night.

So the last few weeks have had their ups and downs, good times and bad. This week has been extremly stressfull. With the ongoing problem of mrs. Brundidge, the project was extremly hard. After finishing five pages of pure crap, she gave the outline for how she wanted it, and those five pages of crap had to be done over. Scooreeee...causing me to miss frisbee practice again. The weather was lovely for the most part, not including friday and saturday. Although, it would have been amazing to go away for spring break. Somewhere warm, a cruise...returning to hawaii. Amazing place. Staying home has its turnouts though, being lazy is exciting sometimes...if that makes any sense whatsoever.
Today:Morning was extremly interesting. Lately ive been having moodswings, the pressure is just unbelievable, and because of recent happenings..its just hard. FINALLY GOT TO SEE ELIZA. Missing my haircut, and going to shorthills to fix this goddamn ipod of mine. Worth it. Her new house is amazing, cant believe he made music in that roomm eliza! We went to "uptown" montclair, even tho i think its really downtown, whatever. Her friends are pretty chill, pretty crazy, but its entertaining. There are some massive houses on uppermountain...
Chris, Mike and Laura came over. IT WAS FANTASTIC. AMAZING. Watching chris and mike practically hump on the floor...priceless....haha fatasses. well that wraps up a lot, now enjoy some pics.

^Mountvernon, smooches for brian!

^Mike what are u doing?!

The usual...Brooklyn..chilled in the empty apartment onthe top floor cleaning it up since they left it a mess....

Id really like to have a small apartment in Parkslope, it would be pretty cool, Or NYC....but its all pretty expensive and what not.....

Hopefully this weekend will be eventful. Friday night ether hanging out with some kids, or going to see the bands play(yay sams band) at CHS, then chill with the usual kids. Not very excited for Wind Ensemble try outs, i know for a fact im not going to do so well, not very good under pressure.

However, it is a three day weekend and that is a plus. Chris, Eric, and Andriana came over today around five after i came home from Sparkle Motion teach in(sccoooreeeee). Chilled, played pool, ordered in...the usual. And the results were....................pretty good. But we messed up big time. Im very satisfied(my bead word) with the outcome, but still very angry that lighting crew didnt pull it together, it wasnt their fault....but hopefully tonight we will have the back scene, gaslight, and of course THE TREE working properly.

Afterwards, cast and crew went and pigged out at the Maplewood Diner(contrary to popular belief, it is not the same thing as the Maple Leaf, at all.)

Got home at 1:30. Not to exciting, not to bad.

Peace out kids.

--------------------------------------------

Whooping Cough:

Whooping cough or pertussis is a contagious respiratory disease caused by the B. pertussis bacterium. The disease is spread by coughing or sneezing. Thick mucous builds up in the lungs and clogs air passages, triggering violent coughing spells. It can be quite serious, especially for young infants with tiny air passages. The fatality rate is highest in infants under six months of age. The effects of toxins in the B. pertussis bacteria can produce high fever, convulsions, brain damage and death. Permanent damage can include continuing seizure conditions, mental retardation, learning disabilities, and chronic illness, not always though.

Severe cases of whooping cough may require hospitalization, respiratory support, and nutritional and rehydration therapy. There is no medicine to cure whooping cough but antibiotics are often used to reduce the spread of the disease to others as well as treat secondary infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and otitis media (inner ear infections). In the past, these secondary infections often caused many of the deaths, which occurred after a child had whooping cough.

The dangers of whooping cough:

In its early stages, pertussis is indistinguishable from the many colds common in children. However, after one or two weeks, the illness gets progressively worse. Thick mucous builds up in the lungs, triggering severe coughing spells as children try to clear their clogged up airways. Children can cough so long and hard that they literally cannot ‘catch their breath;’. Their faces turn blue when they are unable to get fresh oxygen into their system. As the coughing spell ends, children gasp for their next breath with a characteristic crowing sound, or whoop. These coughing spells can occur up to 40 times a day and can last two to three months.

What is the Risk of Dying from Whooping Cough?

In 1934, more than 265,000 cases of pertussis were reported in the U.S. with nearly 8,000 deaths. Whooping cough in the underdeveloped Third World countries is still the killer it once was throughout the world in the early part of this century. However, in modern countries, such as Europe and the U.S., today whooping cough is a much more manageable disease that causes death or injury less frequently. This is due to improved sanitation, nutrition, and medical care; the use of antibiotics to control secondary infections, etc.

Whooping Cough is characterized by severe coughing spells that end in a "whooping" sound when the person breathes in. Before a vaccine was available, pertussis killed 5,000 to 10,000 people in the United States each year. Now, the pertussis vaccine has reduced the annual number of deaths to less than 30.

--------------------------------------------

Are you kidding me?
